Guam police have taken three juvenile suspects into custody and are searching for a fourth following a machete-involved robbery at a Talo’fo’fo store earlier this week.

According to the Guam Police Department, the robbery occurred around 7:28 p.m. on Jan. 27 at New Morning Market. Investigators said four male suspects were involved.

A witness told police two males approached the cash register, where one allegedly pointed a machete and demanded money. The witness complied, opening the register. The suspects reportedly took cash from the register, the witness’s wallet and several packs of cigarettes. Two additional individuals were seen standing near the door during the incident. All four fled on foot.

Police said more than $100 was taken from the register, along with a wallet containing more than $2,000.

Based on surveillance footage and community tips, officers located two minors on Jan. 28 and placed them in the custody of the Department of Youth Affairs. A third minor was located and detained Thursday evening. Authorities continue searching for the fourth suspect.
