A teenager identified as BK Luke Oneichy was released Saturday on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond after being charged with obstructing government function and disorderly conduct, according to a magistrate’s report from the Superior Court of Guam.
Court records show Oneichy, also known as Pk Olechy, was one of several defendants arraigned before Magistrate Judge Jonathan Quan. Prosecutor Monty May of the Attorney General’s Office handled the case, while Assistant Attorney General Aaron Boyce represented the government. The charges stem from an Oct. 23 auto-object car crash near the Barrigada Shell Gas station that also led to the arrest of four others — the driver, Ray Jay Jain, for driving while impaired, and Erick Mathias Oneichu, Alex Oneichy, and Sapuro Timothy - on similar counts involving obstruction and underage drinking. A video of the encounter between police and the defendants went viral on social media.
According to the magistrate’s report, some defendants in the case were released on recognizance while others remained in custody under cash bail ranging from $250 to $500. All were accused of minor offenses connected to public disturbances and interference with law enforcement duties.
The court set future hearing dates for the defendants to answer the misdemeanor and petty misdemeanor charges. The Guam Police Department has not yet released further details about the incident.
