A 18-year-old male is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle, drinking alcohol, and crashing into parked cars in Dededo, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in the Superior Court of Guam.
Police say the incident unfolded on August 10, when officers were dispatched to Kalamasa Drive to assist with the detention of two males, later identified as RJ Paul and Sillem Sato, in connection to a possible burglary. Investigators later determined the pair were not involved in the burglary but had been in a 2025 brown Nissan Kicks that collided with parked vehicles at Macheche Mart. Surveillance footage allegedly showed Paul, Sato, and a third person fleeing the scene.
The vehicle’s owner told officers the car was taken earlier that day without permission. A relative, said her 13-year-old son told her that Paul had taken the Nissan. Officers reported finding beer cans scattered inside the vehicle. Sato later told police that Paul picked him up, suggested they buy alcohol, and drove around before the crash.
Paul was arrested at 8:30 p.m. and charged with theft of a motor vehicle as a second-degree felony and consumption of alcohol by a minor as a petty misdemeanor
