The SNIP Clinic at Guam Animals In Need (GAIN) is encouraging residents to take advantage of its weekly low-cost spay and neuter services to help address animal overpopulation on Guam.
The clinic, located in Yigo, offers spay and neuter surgeries for $50, with appointments available every week. Officials say the consistent schedule allows pet owners to access services without waiting for periodic outreach events held in villages throughout the year.
In addition to surgeries, pet owners can purchase optional services at the time of their pet’s procedure, including rabies vaccinations, microchipping, and flea and tick prevention at reduced costs.
The clinic also provides free spay and neuter services for individuals receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, expanding access for low-income residents.
GAIN recently launched its “SNIP & Tip” program, which focuses on sterilizing community animals—pets cared for by neighborhoods or multiple households. The program offers no-cost services that include surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, and ear tipping for identification.
Officials say the initiative is aimed at reducing the number of stray and unsterilized animals while improving overall animal health across the island.
