The Department of Public Health and Social Services announced Friday that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Cash Assistance benefits will not be issued as scheduled due to technical difficulties.
According to the department, the delay stems from connectivity issues that prevented benefits from being loaded onto client Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards Friday night. The department did not specify the cause of the outage or provide a timeline for resolution.
The Office of Technology is working to address the technical problem, DPHSS said. Officials apologized for the inconvenience and acknowledged the impact the delay may have on families who rely on monthly assistance for food and essential needs.
DPHSS said it will provide an update once the issue is resolved and benefits are made available. The department expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and understanding during the disruption.
