The sinahi reported missing from the Chief Kepuha statue has been recovered, according to authorities.
The necklace was located at about 9:05 p.m. Wednesday night after a motorist traveling northbound from Route 4 toward the Paseo Loop noticed an object dangling from the statue’s right hand. The individual approached the monument and confirmed the object appeared to be a sinahi before contacting the Guam Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene, recovered the item and turned it over to Park Police.
Officials later confirmed the recovered sinahi was the same piece reported missing on March 31.
The Guam Police Department said it will assist Park Police with follow-up investigations. No additional details were immediately available.
