The Salvation Army Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division is preparing to serve thousands of people through its annual Thanksgiving outreach, offering free meals and community gatherings across Hawaiʻi and Guam. Events range from sit-down luncheons to grab-and-go distributions and home-delivered meals for seniors and residents who cannot travel.
“Thanksgiving is a time of gratitude, reflection, joy and hope,” said Divisional Commander Major Troy Trimmer. He added that the holiday programs aim to create safe, judgement-free spaces where people can connect and share a warm meal. “We want to remind people that The Salvation Army…is here for you—not only in fellowship during the holidays, but year-round through our vital services and programs.”
On Guam, the Salvation Army will serve 500 meals during a Thanksgiving luncheon at Chamorro Village on Nov. 27. Organizers say demand for holiday assistance is growing and community support remains essential.
The Salvation Army is encouraging residents to donate to its virtual kettles and volunteer as bell ringers through RegistertoRing.com to help sustain community programs throughout the year.
