Residents who paid certain fees online through the Department of Revenue and Taxation are receiving reimbursements for credit card convenience fees charged on individual transactions, according to a release from DRT issued Monday.
The reimbursements apply to individual transactions completed between Jan. 23, 2025, and April 30, 2025, through DRT’s online payment portals at myguamtax.com and pay.guam.gov, the release said.
Affected residents are receiving emails from LexisNexis Payments, an external vendor contracted by the Government of Guam to process payment transactions, with the subject line “Lexis Nexis Payment Solutions - Notification of Credit Request,” according to DRT. The emails confirm reimbursement of credit card convenience fees tied to individual transactions, which include vehicle registration and renewal, driver’s license and Guam identification card processing, and individual income tax payments.
DRT is encouraging consumers to verify the fee amount listed in the email against their bank account statements to confirm the credited amount matches.
Businesses are not eligible for the reimbursements and are still required to pay credit card convenience fees on transactions with the Treasurer of Guam and DRT, the release said.
Credit card service fees continue to be assessed on individual transactions processed online through DRT’s portals. Residents seeking to avoid the fees can make payments in person at DRT or the Treasurer of Guam’s office, according to the release.
