The Guam Department of Public Works responded to reports of flooding in multiple areas across the island as heavy rainfall continued through Monday.
In a news release issued Feb 2, DPW said crews were actively monitoring conditions, clearing debris and addressing affected roadways.
The Guam Police Department reported flooding in affected areas to include the Umatac Carnival Grounds; Route 4 by Quinene Road in Merizo; Inarajan Garden House; the southbound lane near the Veterans Cemetery in Piti; the Pulantat area and Polaris Point in Piti; Route 10 by Wendy’s in Barrigada; and Chamorro Gardens in Mongmong.
Meanwhile a video shared on social media shows areas in Harmon Industrial Park submerged in water.
This occurred following a flash flood warning earlier that morning. The National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office Guam recorded that 1 to 3 inches of rain fell before 8 a.m. and more rain was forecasted through the day.
