Public Health marks Primary Care Week with island events

The Department of Public Health and Social Services is inviting the community to celebrate Primary Care Week 2025, from October 6 to 10, through a series of health-centered events promoting access, prevention, and community care.

The week kicks off with a proclamation signing ceremony at the Governor’s Complex, followed by community health showcases at the Northern and Southern Region Community Health Centers. Activities include nutrition workshops, doula outreach sessions, mental health and wellness events, and a tobacco intervention training at the Hyatt Regency Guam.

DPHSS Director Theresa Arriola said Primary Care Week reflects a shared commitment to “trust, prevention, and community.” The celebration concludes with a volunteer tree planting in Malesso’ on October 11, symbolizing the department’s mission to grow a healthier Guam for future generations.
