A police officer has been taken into custody as part of a federal investigation, according to the Guam Police Department.
In a statement on Tuesday, GPD Spokesperson Norman Analista identified the arrestee as Jeffery Leon Guerrero Santos, a Police Sergeant I. He confirmed Santos was arrested on June 29 in connection with an ongoing investigation.
Analista said the matter is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Bureau of Investigations and deferred all questions regarding the case and arrest to the federal authority.
Santos has been placed on administrative leave.
