The Guam Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred following a road rage confrontation at the intersection of Route 10A and Route 1 in Tamuning, officials said Thursday.
Police said the incident happened Sept. 30 at 1:16 p.m., when a woman reported being assaulted by a man after the two exchanged words in traffic. According to investigators, the man said the woman failed to move when the light turned green, prompting him to honk several times. Both drivers stopped at the intersection, got out of their vehicles and began arguing before the confrontation escalated into a physical altercation.
A portion of the incident was captured on video and has been circulating on social media, authorities said. Both individuals sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene.
GPD did not disclose the names of the individuals involved or confirm if any arrests have been made. The case has been closed by Guam Police and forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for possible indictment.
