UPDATE: The Guam Police Department has identified the body of the lifeless male adult discovered following Super Typhoon Bavi as Chalan Pago resident, Michael Stephen Kohn, who was reported missing on July 6.

GPD made the identification following a statement released on Friday morning noting a "male" individual was reported missing by a family member ahead of Super Typhoon Bavi. Authorities said a search was conducted on July 7 when conditions from Bavi subsided. The search involved GPD SWAT operators, family and the deployment of a GPD drone.

"A search volunteer located the lifeless body of an adult male in the Chalan Pago area which detectives believe to be the reported missing person," GPD said.

Following the discovery GPD launched a separate death investigation, confirming that next of kin has been notified.

"The body of the male was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office and the investigation remains open," GPD said.
