The Guam Police Department (GPD) continues its homicide investigation into the death of Department of Corrections (DOC) inmate Manuel Greg Arriola, who was found lifeless within the DOC compound in Mangilao on June 14, 2025.
According to preliminary information, officers responded after Arriola was discovered unresponsive at Post 18 at approximately 11:18 p.m. CPR was initiated by DOC personnel until Guam Fire Department medics arrived and continued life-saving efforts. Arriola was later transported to Guam Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1 a.m. on June 15 by Dr. Norak Chhieng, an emergency room physician.
GPD was notified at around 12:15 a.m., and officers documented the scene through photographs. An autopsy conducted by Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Keng-Chih “Kenny” Su revealed multiple injuries to Arriola’s head and torso. Dr. Su determined the cause of death to be strangulation following blunt force trauma, ruling the case a homicide.
The Guam Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Arriola’s death. Authorities have not released further details regarding potential suspects or motives.
