The Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS), Division of Senior Citizens, announced that the open enrollment period for the 2026 Medicare prescription drug plans, known as Medicare Part D, is now underway. Enrollment runs from Oct. 16 through Dec. 7, 2025, allowing beneficiaries to enroll, switch, or terminate coverage. The Guam start date differs slightly from the U.S. mainland due to the time zone difference.
Throughout the enrollment period, Medicare beneficiaries are encouraged to review their plans, as costs and coverage can change annually. Appointments for Medicare Part D enrollment are available Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Division of Senior Citizens office in the Castle Mall building in Mangilao. Informational presentations will also be held every Thursday at 2 p.m. until Dec. 4, excluding holidays on Nov. 11 and Nov. 27.
The Guam Medicare Assistance Program provides counseling and enrollment assistance for Medicare Part D but does not assist with enrollment in Medicare Part A or B, which must be done through the Social Security Administration. The program is supported through the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) and the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) grants, which together fund education and fraud prevention efforts for Guam’s estimated 20,434 Medicare beneficiaries.
