Officials are pushing back against misinformation spreading on social media that falsely depicted widespread flooding on Guam during Typhoon Sinlaku's passage near the island.

The Joint Information Center said the viral post "does not depict any part of Guam" during the storm and called the claims false.

Officials urged the community to stop sharing unverified content and to rely solely on confirmed information from authorized sources, including the JIC and the National Weather Service Guam.

The warning comes as Guam remains under Condition of Readiness 1 following Sinlaku's slow crawl through the Marianas. Misinformation during active storm conditions can trigger unnecessary panic and strain emergency resources.
