The Department of Public Health and Social Services announced that the Northern Region Community Health Center Laboratory has secured recertification under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988, following an onsite inspection in July by federal health officials.
The inspection was conducted by a representative from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Division of Clinical Laboratory Improvement and Quality Survey Branch. Recertification affirms the lab’s compliance with federal standards for safety, accuracy, and quality of testing.
The NRCHC Laboratory provides a wide range of services, including complete blood counts, urinalysis, pregnancy testing, diabetes monitoring, strep screening, and phlebotomy. It also offers new lead testing for children and families, while sending other samples to the Guam Public Health Laboratory and reference labs as needed.
