The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority has started installing new cooling towers as part of a capital improvement project designed to enhance air quality and provide a safer, more comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors. The work follows the hospital’s receipt of a 265-ton chiller and condenser last week, marking continued progress in upgrades to the aging facility.
GMHA Interim Administrator and CEO Dr. Joleen M. Aguon said the improvements represent meaningful steps forward in revitalizing the hospital. Earlier this month, GMHA also received two 450-ton chillers that will help reduce mold and humidity issues, improve air-conditioning reliability and maintain healthier conditions throughout the building.
Governor Lou Leon Guerrero said the investment aligns with the administration’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted, quality care while work continues toward building a new hospital. She emphasized that infrastructure projects like this are essential to long-term progress.
