More than $37.3 million in individual tax refunds for tax year 2025 has been issued so far, covering 10,022 returns filed on or before Feb. 4, according to the Department of Revenue and Taxation and the Department of Administration.
Officials said the latest disbursement totaled about $11.79 million and covered 3,526 returns, representing the most recent wave of payments to taxpayers.
Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero said the administration has focused on improving the timeliness of refund payments.
“For far too long people had to wait, sometimes years, to get money that is rightfully theirs,” Leon Guerrero said. “The timely payment of tax refunds is a tangible result of getting the government’s financial house in order.”
Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio said faster processing is critical as families continue to face affordability challenges.
“Hardworking families depend upon their refund today more than ever given the affordability issues that are impacting all of us,” Tenorio said.
Officials said tax returns continue to be processed, with the filing deadline set for April 15. Taxpayers who owe and cannot pay in full are encouraged to contact DRT’s collection branch to discuss payment options.
Due to a high volume of filings, refund processing times are expected to range between six and eight weeks, according to the agencies.
