The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS), Division of Senior Citizens, announced that the annual open enrollment period for Medicare Part D prescription drug plans will run from October 16 through December 7, 2025, for Guam residents. The date reflects Guam’s time zone difference from the U.S. mainland, where enrollment begins October 15. The period provides Medicare recipients an opportunity to enroll in, switch, or terminate prescription drug plans for 2026 coverage.
Plan costs and covered medications can change each year, officials said, urging beneficiaries to review their current plans and explore available options. “People with Medicare should look at their coverage choices and decide the options that best fit their health needs,” the agency stated. Participation in Medicare Part D is voluntary but encouraged for those seeking help with prescription medication costs.
Open enrollment counseling appointments will be available every Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. through December 3 at the Division of Senior Citizens office, located at 130 University Drive, Suite 8, Castle Mall in Mangilao. Weekly informational presentations on Medicare Part D will be held at the same location every Thursday at 2 p.m. from October 16 to December 4. There will be no counseling on Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day and no presentation on Nov. 27 due to Thanksgiving.
