A Mangilao man is facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking his father with a metal pipe and violating a court order to stay away from him, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by the Guam Attorney General’s Office.
Police responded to a reported disturbance around 12:30 a.m. Sunday at a home on Spanish Street, where they met the victim, identified as the defendant's father, and a witness. Investigators say the suspect, identified as David John “Poke” Villagomez, began arguing with his father, called him derogatory names, and threw various objects, including a coconut tree branch. Villagomez allegedly swung a three-foot metal pipe, pointed its sharp end toward his father as if attempting to stab him, and ultimately threw it, striking his father’s arm and causing a minor injury.
Court records show Villagomez was under a February 2025 conditional release order issued by Judge Maria Cenzon that barred him from contacting or being near his father. Police arrested him around 1:45 p.m. on August 10.
Villagomez is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as a third-degree felony, violation of a court order as a misdemeanor, and family violence as a misdemeanor.
