A man is facing charges in the Superior Court of Guam based on allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman behind her tent at an encampment in Dededo on Sept. 4.
The incident was reported by the woman who identified the man as "Ongi." She told police he was wearing a black shirt and white pants and fled in the direction of Route 27 toward the northern portion of the ponding basin.
"While canvassing the area officers observed a make attired in a black shirt and white pants attempting to conceal himself in the heavily vegetated area from police," the complaint states.
The suspect was identified by police as Kris Asauo.
The complaint states earlier that night the woman was drinking beer at the encampment with her friends when the suspect joined. After her friends left, the suspect stayed behind.
The woman claimed that Asauo removed her clothing and undergarments and had sexual intercourse with her despite her objections.
"The victim screamed but she didn't believe that any [sic] one heard her," the complaint said.
Police spoke with a female witness who heard the victim yelling for help at the homeless encampment.
"At which point, she investigated," the complaint states.
The witness told police she saw Asauo's genitals and that he was "laying on the ground with the victim, who was naked from waist down."
"This female yelled at Asauo to stop, picked up the victim and escorted her out of the encampment area," the complaint states.
Police said Asauo admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim and that he stopped "after the victim told him to stop twice."
Based on the allegations Asauo was with Third-degree criminal sexual conduct as a second-degree felony and fourth degree criminal sexual conduct as a misdemeanor.
Asauo's case was "held over" to Tuesday.
