A 19-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges in connection with an armed robbery at a Talofofo convenience store, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in Superior Court of Guam.
Jayson John Aguon is charged with second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, theft and conspiracy to commit theft, all as second-degree felonies. Each charge includes a notice alleging the use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, court documents state.
The charges stem from a Jan. 27, incident at New Morning Mart in Talofofo. The store owner told police that masked individuals went behind the counter, demanded money and took cash and merchandise before fleeing, according to the affidavit of probable cause. The victim reported that one suspect pointed a machete-like weapon at her and ordered her to open the register.
The complaint alleges more than $1,500 was taken, including cash from the register, a wallet containing thousands of dollars and several items from the store.
According to the affidavit, co-defendants and witnesses told police that Aguon was one of the individuals at the register and that he used a "machete-like" weapon during the robbery. Statements also allege the group later divided the proceeds.
Prosecutors allege Aguon agreed with others to commit the robbery and theft and took part in carrying out the crimes. The case was filed by the Office of the Attorney General on Feb. 2, 2026.
Ke'an Aguero Quenga and Dereck J. Martinez, both 16, were charged on Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 with second-degree robbery and theft. A third minor identified by the initials M.E. was interviewed by police but not charged according to Guam News files.
