Guam Police Department officers arrested Michael Ray Angelo Guzman, 22, of Sinajana on Sept. 3 following a police pursuit that began with a stolen vehicle and ended with his arrest inside Cost-U-Less in Chalan Pago. Guzman faces a long list of charges, including two counts each of criminal trespass, theft of property, theft of a motor vehicle and assault on a police officer, along with burglary, reckless driving, home invasion and other offenses.
Police said the case began around 8 a.m. on Sept. 2 with a report of a home invasion in Sinajana, during which a vehicle was stolen. The next afternoon, officers located the vehicle in Ordot, where Guzman allegedly rammed it into a patrol car before fleeing on foot through Agueda Johnston Middle School grounds. School employees assisted officers by tracking his movement until he entered nearby jungle areas.
According to GPD, Guzman was later seen riding a bicycle against traffic on Route 4 before entering a sedan. After officers stopped the vehicle, he fled on foot again and was eventually apprehended inside Cost-U-Less. He was booked and confined to the Department of Corrections, with the case forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office for review.
This marks Guzman’s sixth arrest since January 2022. Previous arrests included charges such as robbery, criminal mischief, family violence, assault, resisting arrest, and multiple counts of eluding police and theft. Police noted that another man seen with officers during the Sept. 3 incident was not charged and was released.
