The Guam Police Department has arrested Jayson John Aguon, 19, for his alleged role in a Jan. 27 robbery at New Morning Store in Talo’fo’fo. Aguon faces multiple charges including second-degree armed robbery, conspiracy, criminal facilitation, use of a deadly weapon during a felony, and guilt by complicity.
According to police, Aguon self-surrendered at a relative’s home Feb. 1 and admitted involvement during an interview at the Agat Precinct Command. Investigators said four males participated in the incident, which involved a suspect pointing a machete at the store clerk while demanding money. The suspects stole over $100 from the register, the victim’s wallet containing more than $2,000, and packs of cigarettes before fleeing on foot.
Guam News files show that police previously located 16-year-olds Ke’an Kaleo Aguero Quenga and Dereck J. Martinez on Jan. 28 and 29, who were taken into the custody of the Department of Youth Affairs and charged with second-degree robbery and theft. A third individual identified in court documents by the initials M.E. was interviewed but not charged. Aguon, identified as the fourth suspect, was booked and confined to the Department of Corrections. His case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for review and disposition.
The department considers the case closed.
