A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a domestic violence incident, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in the Superior Court of Guam in Hagatna.
The victim filed a complaint alleging assault by Kioni Que Leon Guerrero Quitugua, 29. She displayed visible injuries, including bruises and cuts on her face, neck, and arms, and reported a history of domestic violence.
According to the victim’s statement, Quitugua allegedly pushed and slapped her, placed her in a headlock, and squeezed her until she nearly lost consciousness. She further accused Quitugua of taking her handgun, which she had grabbed for self-defense, and placing it on the floor. He then allegedly grabbed and dragged her by the head over his left shoulder, pushing her against his shoulder. He then reportedly threw her to the ground and struck her left hip with a shoehorn before again placing her in a headlock.
Quitugua was charged with strangulation as a third-degree felony and family violence as a misdemeanor.
