A man was arrested early Tuesday morning after Guam police discovered methamphetamine residue in two pipes found on him while he was sleeping outside a business along Marine Corps Drive, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the Superior Court of Guam.
Prosecutors charged Alex Sablan Muñoz with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, a third-degree felony, following his arrest on Oct. 14, 2025. The affidavit states that at about 1:05 a.m., the officer observed Muñoz asleep in front of Ellen’s Realty and stopped to check on him. When officers approached, Muñoz reportedly admitted that he had a pipe in his pocket but said it did not contain any drugs.
A pat-down search conducted by a second officer revealed two glass pipes with visible residue. The items later tested positive for methamphetamine. Muñoz was taken into custody and transported to the precinct for questioning.
Assistant Attorney General Monty May filed the affidavit of probable cause, stating there was sufficient evidence to support the charge under Guam law. Munoz was held on $5,000 cash bail. If convicted, Muñoz faces up to five years in prison for the felony offense.
