UPDATE: A photo circulating social media
shows what appears to have been a landslide in
Hagatna. The Guam Police Department although they
have not identified the cause of the road closure, did
advise at 4: 20 a.m. that all north and southbound
lanes on Route 1 are closed early Wednesday morning
near Vince Jewelers in East Hagåtña.
Police said northbound and southbound traffic is being
affected, and officers are currently on the scene
working to assess and clear the obstruction. Motorists
are urged to expect delays and use alternate routes
until the roadway is fully reopened.
No information has been released yet on the cause of
the debris or whether any vehicles were involved.
Police said additional details will be provided as they
become available.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the area and
follow traffic directions from officers on scene.
