The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense have assessed that there is no immediate threat to the Marianas following the recent launch of an unidentified projectile from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on October 22.

Lucia Perez, Acting GHS Advisor, stated in a release, “No immediate threat was assessed for the Marianas from the reported launch. With open lines of communication between GHS/OCD and our federal and military partners, we will continue to monitor all events in our region.”

GHS/OCD, in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center and our federal and military partners, will continue to monitor events surrounding the region.
