Hilton Guam Resort and Spa launched its holiday festivities with the unveiling of its annual Gingerbread Express and the debut of Christmas Island, transforming the hotel lobby into a community-inspired winter display. Pastry Chef Katie Lusk said this year’s Gingerbread Express incorporated more than 150 pounds of flour, 80 pounds of molasses and hundreds of handcrafted cookies created by her team and team members’ children.

The display features a U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots–themed car, with proceeds from both attractions benefiting the Todu Guam Foundation. Christmas Island, crafted by Mongmong resident Anthony “Tony” Cruz, is a miniature village built as a tribute to family, community and the island’s resilience. Cruz said the project became “an act of healing,” with every handmade piece representing shared journeys through joy and loss.

Hilton leaders said the expanded holiday showcase was months in the making, led by Commercial Director Sheila Baker. General Manager Hiroki Sugie thanked the resort’s culinary staff, Cruz and sponsors including Bank of Hawaii and local business partners for helping create a space of “comfort, wonder and togetherness” for the island community.

The displays open to the public Nov. 26, with nightly viewing from 6 to 9 p.m. through Jan. 6. Holiday performances and a complimentary photo booth will accompany scheduled weekend light shows. Families are invited to visit the Hilton Guam lobby to experience the seasonal lights, music and festivities.
