Guam remains under a tropical storm warning and a typhoon watch, meaning tropical storm conditions are expected within 24 hours. While the threat of typhoon conditions has decreased due to Super Typhoon Sinlaku’s northward shift over the past 24 hours, this remains a serious weather event as of 9:12 p.m. on April 12.
Tropical storm force winds, 39 mph or more, are expected to reach Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan by Monday night. At this time, Guam is not anticipated to receive typhoon force winds, 74 mph or more, however, the island remains under a typhoon watch in the unlikely event of a southward shift in the track.
