Guam’s unemployment rate fell to 3.2% in June 2025, down from 3.4% in March and 4.0% a year earlier, according to the Guam Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. The total number of unemployed residents was reported at 2,270, marking steady progress in lowering joblessness since the pandemic peak in December 2020.
The survey covered 123,160 residents age 16 and older. The labor force participation rate was recorded at 57.4% in June, showing little change from 57.7% in March. Officials noted the rate reflects both fewer unemployed individuals and fewer residents outside the labor force compared to the previous year.
Employment distribution highlighted 68,400 total employed, including 60,830 full-time workers and 7,560 part-time workers. Adult men had the lowest unemployment rate at 2.1%, while adult women experienced a higher rate of 4.3%. Teen unemployment dropped sharply to 8.3% from 16.7% in March, reflecting notable gains among younger workers.
The Bureau emphasized that the figures are derived from scientifically sampled household surveys conducted quarterly. Officials credited the cooperation of residents for the data collection, which provides insight into Guam’s ongoing economic recovery and workforce stability.
