The Department of Revenue and Taxation announced Guam’s 2026 tax filing season will open Jan. 26 and run through April 15.

During the filing period, taxpayers are required to submit their 2025 income tax returns. DRT said it continues to work with the Department of Administration to process and distribute individual tax refunds. Under law, the agencies have up to six months from the date a return is filed to issue refunds.

For the 2024 tax season, $102 million in refunds were distributed between January and March, with an additional $33 million issued between April and June, according to DRT.

Taxpayers are advised to allow six to eight weeks from the date of filing before contacting DRT to inquire about refund status. Those who choose direct deposit are encouraged to verify their banking information to avoid processing delays.

Beginning Jan. 26, DRT will also offer limited tax preparation services for manåmko’, individuals with disabilities and veterans. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

The assistance is limited to eligible taxpayers filing returns with W-2GU, 1099R, SSA-1099 and 1099-INT forms.

For questions related to income tax filing, taxpayers may contact DRT’s Call Center at 671-635-1840, 1841 or 7651, or email pinadmin@revtax.guam.gov.
