The Guam Power Authority (GPA) continues Phase II of post-typhoon recovery, with line crews addressing distribution lines in villages with minimal damage.

GPA’s Smart Meter Network provides “real-time” outage and restoration information, which the agency uses to track progress. Customers are asked to limit calls to the GPA Dispatch Center to critical issues such as downed power lines, blown transformers, low-voltage conditions or other situations that may present a safety concern, GPA said in Joint Information Center Recovery Release No. 21 on July 13.

Customers can track areas targeted for restoration work at guampowerauthority.com.

Customers with damaged weatherheads, meter sockets or other electrical components must have repairs made before power service can be restored.

“Now is the time to make an assessment of your home and property. Call GPA Customer Service at 671-647-5787/88/89 for more information about what to do if you have a damaged weatherhead, meter socket or other electrical components,” GPA said.

GPA reminded the community to avoid downed lines and equipment, as they may still be energized and can cause bodily harm or death.

To report downed power lines, contact GPA Trouble Dispatch at 671-475-1472/1473/1474. Customers may also email customersfirst@gpagwa.com or send a direct message on GPA’s Facebook or Instagram page.

When submitting a report, customers must provide the exact location or address, contact information and a description of conditions at the location.
