The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority (GMHA) bid farewell to Hospital Administrator and Chief Executive Officer Lillian Perez-Posadas on Tuesday with a standing ovation as staff members lined the corridors to honor her years of service.
Perez-Posadas, who took the helm of GMHA in 2019, was recognized for her decades-long career in healthcare and leadership. During her tenure, she steered the hospital through the COVID-19 pandemic, pushed for accreditation milestones, advocated for nursing education, and worked to strengthen staff retention while maintaining essential services for the island.
Sen. Sabrina Matanane, chairperson of the Committee on Health and Veterans Affairs, presented Perez-Posadas with a legislative resolution commending her dedication and lasting contributions to Guam’s healthcare system. Staff and colleagues praised her for her compassion, resilience, and commitment to service.
With more than 30 years of experience in nursing, education, and hospital administration, Perez-Posadas leaves behind what colleagues called an “indelible mark” on the island’s healthcare community. Her final walk to the hospital’s main lobby was met with applause, well-wishes, and gratitude from the GMHA family.
