The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority announced that vascular surgeries have resumed as of April 1 following a temporary suspension implemented days earlier to ensure patient safety.
According to GMHA, the precautionary pause began March 27 ahead of the scheduled replenishment of essential vascular supplies. The hospital has since received the necessary shipment, allowing services to safely resume.
“No impacts to patients were observed during the suspension period, and none were anticipated,” the hospital said in a statement.
During the brief disruption, providers continued managing patient care through alternative treatments and interventions to maintain continuity of care.
Hospital officials emphasized that no other services or procedures were affected during the suspension, with all departments continuing normal operations.
GMHA reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of care and transparency.
“GMHA remains committed to patient safety, transparency, and the delivery of quality healthcare services to the people of Guam,” the statement said.
