The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority (GMHA) is notifying the public of a scheduled phone service interruption on Friday, Sept. 5, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. as maintenance work continues on the hospital’s telecommunications system.

GMHA said its vendor will be on-site to address ongoing technical difficulties that have affected certain hospital phone lines. During the two-hour maintenance window, some lines will be temporarily unavailable, potentially impacting non-emergency communications.

The hospital has provided alternate contact numbers for assistance during the outage, including (671) 647-2552 through 2559. GMHA emphasized that patients with urgent medical needs should proceed directly to the Emergency Department for immediate care.

“We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we work to restore full phone service,” said GMHA Hospital Administrator and CEO Lillian Perez-Posadas.
