Guam Memorial Hospital Authority announced that Hospital Administrator and CEO Lillian Perez-Posadas will retire effective Sept. 30. after six years leading the island’s only public hospital. The GMHA Board of Trustees said an interim administrator will be appointed later this month while the search for a permanent successor continues.
Board Chair Sharon Davis praised Perez-Posadas’ service, citing her role in steering the hospital through operational challenges, aging facilities, and the COVID-19 pandemic. “Her leadership has been instrumental in advancing our mission to provide quality healthcare services to the people of Guam and the region,” Davis said.
Perez-Posadas became CEO in 2019 and helped maintain hospital operations during financial shortfalls and the health crisis brought by the pandemic. Her tenure is credited with keeping GMHA on course through some of its most critical moments.
The Board will meet Sept. 24 to name an interim leader to ensure stability during the transition. Davis said the board is committed to a “smooth transition” and is reviewing candidates who can build upon the foundation established during Perez-Posadas’ tenure.
