The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority (GMHA) celebrated several vital departments this week as part of nationwide healthcare recognition events. From Medical-Surgical Nurses and Radiologic Technologists to Medical Staff Professionals, Patient Couriers, and Allied Health teams, GMHA honored the essential contributions of its employees whose work supports patient care across every level of the hospital.

“We are incredibly proud of the dedicated professionals who make up Team GMHA,” said Interim CEO Dr. Joleen Aguon. “Their dedication strengthens our operations and drives continuous improvement in the care we provide. This week reminds us how every role contributes to our mission of healing and service to our island community.”

Throughout the week, GMHA highlighted milestones and innovations across its departments. The Medical Staff Office, for example, achieved 58% compliance within four weeks of launching the hospital’s annual medical staff training, while the Radiology Department celebrated GMHA’s accreditation as a Lung Cancer Screening Center and CT facility. Patient couriers were also recognized for their life-saving support during emergency calls, and Allied Health professionals were commended for their expertise in rehabilitation, respiratory care, and pharmacy services.

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio joined in recognizing the staff’s dedication, emphasizing their vital role in keeping Guam’s only public hospital strong. “Each of you plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our people,” said Leon Guerrero. “Your teamwork and professionalism embody the spirit of service that defines GMHA.”
