The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority (GHURA) is hosting a series of public outreach events this November under the Fix in Six program, part of the $500.8 million Community Development Block Grant–Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) initiative. The sessions aim to help potential applicants understand eligibility, project feasibility, and documentation requirements ahead of upcoming application periods.
Two outreach events are scheduled: Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Guam Museum Theater, featuring a presentation and Q&A session, and Saturday, Nov. 15 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Guam Premier Outlets, where informational materials will be distributed. Attendance at least one outreach session is required for applicants seeking one-on-one technical assistance, though this does not apply to those pursuing CDBG-DR Housing Program aid.
“The $500.8 million in disaster recovery funds represents more than just an investment in infrastructure — it’s an investment in our people and our future,” GHURA Deputy Director and Grant Manager Fernando Esteves said. “Rebuilding our island’s resilience is no easy task, but together we will thrive.”
Residents are encouraged to provide feedback through short surveys at guamcdbgdr.org to help GHURA assess community priorities. Funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, CDBG-DR aims to assist low- to moderate-income households recover from Typhoon Mawar, strengthen public infrastructure, and build long-term community resilience.
