A fisherman in his 30s died Sunday night after being pulled from the water at Pago Bay Beach, according to the Guam Fire Department.

A 911 call reporting a distressed fisherman came in at 8:16 p.m. Units arrived and began search efforts at about 8:28 p.m. GFD rescue crews located the man at 8:51 p.m.

First responders began CPR at the scene before transporting the patient toward Naval Hospital for emergency care. An update later stated that at 9:18 p.m., paramedics terminated resuscitation efforts while enroute due to the patient’s condition, following GFD and Guam Memorial Hospital medical protocol. The patient was then transported to GMH.
