Firefighters are responding to two separate grass fires Thursday, with one still burning in an area crews cannot access, according to authorities.
At about 10:55 a.m., Guam Fire Department units were dispatched to reports of smoke seen across from Notre Dame High School. Crews arrived to find a fire involving grass and debris and began suppression efforts, which were ongoing as of the latest update.
In a separate incident, a grass fire in Malesso has been active since early Thursday morning. Officials said the blaze remains inaccessible, preventing crews from conducting extinguishment operations.
No injuries or structural damage were immediately reported in either incident. Officials continue to monitor both fires.
