The Guam National Guard will close the outer northbound lane of Route 16 on Sunday for its Fallen Heroes Memorial Run, officials said. The temporary closure will take place from 4 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. along Army Drive, from the Department of Revenue and Taxation to the overpass.
Guard members will make a formation stop at the Gold Star family home of Sgt. Samson Mora, who died in 2008 from injuries sustained during service in Afghanistan. The annual run honors Mora and other service members who have died in the line of duty.
Motorists traveling through the area are urged to proceed with caution and expect minor delays during the event, officials said.
The Guard thanked the public for its support and extended holiday well-wishes, saying it hopes the community will join in honoring Guam’s fallen heroes.
