Early voting for the 2026 Guam Election has begun at the Westin Resort Guam, the Guam Election Commission’s designated site for early and curbside voting.
“We opened promptly at 10 o’clock. Upstairs we had over a dozen voters waiting in line. I think the wait was like four minutes,” GEC Executive Director Maria Pangelinan said.
Early voting through paper ballots and ExpressVote machines takes place on level “M,” and just outside the lobby entrance Curbside voting is also available for voters with mobility challenges.
Pangelinan acknowledged that voter turnout has been low in past elections but said the response so far has been encouraging. “It’s better. … It’s been very refreshing to see the voters come out.”
With the island still in recovery from Super Typhoon Bavi, she invited voters to head to the Westin and enjoy the air conditioning while casting their ballots. “I want to invite them, Westin’s air conditioner is on,” she said with a laugh.
While the typhoon delayed the start of early voting, Pangelinan said there is no further impact to the schedule. Early voting is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Voters not yet registered have until July 17 to do so on-site with proof of citizenship and a valid ID, and can vote the same day.
Homebound voters may call 671-477-9791 to register for homebound voting. Caregivers may also be eligible to vote alongside the person they care for.
Early voting and in-office absentee voting run July 9 to July 25.
