Guam police are searching for a male driver following a brief vehicle pursuit and crash in Santa Rita on Friday afternoon. According to the Guam Police Department, at around 1:05 p.m. on Dec. 5, officers from the Agat Precinct Command received information about a suspicious vehicle in the Hyundai area.
Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over. Additional units later observed the vehicle traveling along Routes 5 and 2, following it southbound with lights and sirens toward the Agat Marina. The vehicle then made a U-turn in front of the marina and proceeded northbound.
Police said the driver lost control while attempting to make a right turn onto Tomas Mesa Street, running off the roadway and crashing into a fence before coming to rest in the yard of a residence. The male driver and a female passenger fled the scene on foot.
Officers later located the female passenger, who was taken into custody. The male driver remains at large, and the search is ongoing. Police said the case remains an open investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
