An inmate at the Department of Correction in Mangilao has been charged with promoting prison contraband and illegal possession of suspected methamphetamine.
An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed in the Superior Court of Guam said Henry Dean San Nicolas, an inmate and a second "unidentified inmate" were seen on ariel drone surveillance engaging in "suspicious activity on August 10.
DOC officers alleged that when approached, San Nicolas attempted to "remove an item" from his front right pocket noting he "glance backward and place it on the ground."
DOC officers retrieved the item which was identified as a "bended straw containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine."
Guam Police Department officers were called to the prison compound and took custody of the item confiscated. A field test of the substance resulted in a positive hit for methamphetamine.
San Nicolas was charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance as a third-degree felony and promoting major prison contraband as a second-degree felony.
