The Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services announced Monday that both the Northern and Southern Region Community Health Centers will remain open during Super Typhoon Sinlaku, providing non-emergency care while regular clinic appointments are rescheduled.
Provider coverage and staffing plans are in place to support continuous operations. Medications have been secured and refrigerated supplies are being monitored with confirmed backup power.
Services Available
Both centers will provide care for minor, non-urgent and urgent but stable patients, along with basic medical care and nursing services. Oxygen-dependent patients may be accommodated but must bring their own portable oxygen concentrator and nebulizer. Only one companion per patient is permitted.
What to Bring
Patients are advised to bring healthcare insurance information, all maintenance and over-the-counter medications, medical supplies, food — no cooking on premises — water and a change of clothing for three days. Services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis and delays may occur.
Clinic pharmacy services are closed. Only emergency medications for urgent care needs are available on-site. Dialysis patients cannot be accommodated at community clinics.
DPHSS urged residents to secure essential medications and supplies early and continue monitoring official updates as conditions develop.
