After years of waiting, Bradley Aprtments in Anigua opened its doors on Thursday, giving the community a tour of the facility which will help families through difficult chapters in their lives by providing a stable roof over their heads.
While this may look like a regular bedroom for those families and individuals who come here to the Bradley Apartments in Anigua it represents so much more for them, those we spoke with they said it represents a solid foundation for their road to recovery and reuniting with their families.
Davevalor Aguon has been on the road to recovery for six months and part of her journey
“For me and my son, we’ve done recovery before then we entered the Center for Hope and then we finished it. I was worried about going back out there and just failing all over again. But now that we have this it’s what I’ve always been praying for. It’s one of my dreams come true,” Aguon said.
Aguon was touring a unit of the Bradley Apartments when she told Guam News Network, “it’s beautiful. It’s what I expected, what I always dreamed of. Now my sone has his room, I have my room and I got the school next door, and my work down the street.”
She said the Bradley Apartments for her means solid footing to step in the right direction.
It was also an emotional day for Bobbie Viloria who is on a recovery journey.
During the ribbon cutting and opening ceremony on Thursday, she and Aguon showed their appreciation to the Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration by giving Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio a warm embrace.
Viloria recalled the day the Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio visited the Center of Hope’s Residential home and spoke with them about their needs to further their recovery.
“One of our main concerns was housing, child care stuff like that. It’s important to me because as I hugged him he reminded me, this is something that was important to him, so I’m just really glad it is what it is,” Viloria said.
