On June 29, a 13-year-old boy was taken into custody by the Guam Police Department on allegations that he was involved in two burglaries at Jose Rios Middle School.

The minor was arrested on Burglary and Theft of Property offenses, police noting that an investigation was opened after “multiple offices had been burglarized, ransacked, and vandalized with graffiti.”

Detectives investigating the incident follow a tip the “certain individuals” were suspected of making similar graffiti in the Piti area.

Police said follow up investigations implicated the 13-year-old minor in both burglaries.

“The juvenile was processed and confined at the Department of Youth Affairs,” authorities said further noting “the investigation is ongoing as detectives continue efforts to identify additional suspects.”
