A 15-year-old male was taken into custody on August 1 in connection with a robbery that occurred at the Song Market in Chalan Pago just one day prior, according to the Guam Police Department. The teen suspect was identified through video surveillance that captured the July 31 incident, during which two males entered the store armed with a baseball bat and a machete.
Police say approximately $1,000 in merchandise was stolen during the robbery. Investigators from GPD’s Central Precinct Command recognized the teen from the footage. The store owner had also shared information about the incident on social media, aiding in the investigation.
The minor was apprehended without incident in Chalan Pago and later allegedly admitted to his involvement in the crime. He has since been turned over to the Juvenile Investigation Section and confined at the Department of Youth Affairs.
